Giving LiteDeck a fresh finish with TuffCab Matt

TuffCab isn’t just for speaker cabinets. This LiteDeck refurbishment shows how it can give tired painted wood a fresh lease of life.

The customer chose TuffCab for its excellent durability and coverage.

The deck surfaces had picked up visible wear through use. The comparison photos show the worn panels alongside panels refreshed with TuffCab Matt.

A fresh black finish makes a striking difference to the appearance of the staging. Where the wood is still sound, refreshing the coating can be a practical alternative to replacing the panel.

For this refurbishment, the paint was applied with a smooth roller rather than a textured roller. A small amount of TuffCab goes a surprisingly long way when applied this way.

Thinking beyond speakers

Stage decks, wooden flight case panels and other painted wooden equipment can all be candidates for a TuffCab refresh.

Preparation matters

Clean the surface, remove loose or flaking paint and check that the remaining coating is firmly attached. Test a small area first to check adhesion and the finish.
