Purple 526C - Standard Gloss - 5L

TuffCab is a tough, water-based acrylic coating for loudspeaker cabinets, flightcases and similar equipment. It provides a hard-wearing textured finish for new builds and refurbishment.

September 2026 formulation

TuffCab manufactured from September 2026 uses a new formulation: tougher, faster curing and with improved bonding, while keeping straightforward application and the familiar textured finish.

When matching or touching up older cabinets, allow for possible differences in colour, sheen and texture.

Coverage

A 5 L tin covers up to 30 m² per coat, depending on the surface, texture and application thickness.

Bare MDF, plywood and other absorbent timber surfaces normally require at least two coats. The first coat generally uses more paint; subsequent coats help produce an even texture and finish.

When refurbishing cabinets with a sound existing painted surface, a single coat may be sufficient to refresh the finish.
